The Starry Night Murrine V1R1L-4
The Starry Night Murrine V1R1L-4
Version 1, 1st release, Laminated, #4 of 10
This murrine is a recreation of Van Gogh's famous painting "The Starry Night" in 1889. It was made in borosilicate glass using a combination of techniques including Franchini, particulate stack(stringer stack variant), coldwork, furnace work, and flame work.
The laminated slabs have undergone a separate process where we used hxtal to laminate boro sheet glass to both sides. This both protects and reinforces the slab. It also provides a better viewing window that brings light in making the slabs visibly brighter.
Thank you to everyone who made this project possible!
